Each of the elementary schools serves their G.T. students daily for 45 minute periods.

 

2009--2010

Salazar Elementary:K-1st Grade
Feelings Unit--Students learned about Australia after reading Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good Very Bad Day (1st Grade) Feelings Unit--Students used the globe to locate Australia  and then created a Travel Brochure about the continent as part of their Feelings unit.(1st Grade)
Lotspeich Elementary:  K-4th Grades
Feelings Unit--Using writing skills to explain causes of different feelings/emotions (1st grade) Circle of Life Unit--Feeding the fish on a daily basis teaches students responsibility in this unit. (2nd grade)
Self-Development Unit--Students work on their laptops to create Powerpoint presentations on their
 Favorite Animal 
(3rd Grade)
Autobiography Unit--Students use their newly purchased laptops to finalize their Autobiographies.
(4th Grade)

San Pedro Elementary:  K-4th Grades

Feelings Unit and Circle of Life Unit--These two grade levels work together to create and use puppets for their units. (1st and 2nd Grade)

Self-Development Unit--Students observe animal specimens using a table top magnifying glass in their search for a Favorite Animal in this unit. (3rd Grade)
Autobiography Unit--Relieved student as he reacts to his completion of his rough draft, editing, & publishing of his Autiography (4th Grade) Autobiography Unit--Students used cursive writing charts to help make the transition in writing while completing their Autobiography (4th Grade)

Martin Elementary:  2nd--4th Grades

Circle of Life Unit--Students sharpen their writing skills and creativity by writing essays on healthy eating.

Circle of Life Unit--Students learned that daily exercise is important in their lives.

Ortiz Intermediate:  5th & 6th Grades

Students use all types of media and technology in the G.T. classroom.  Shown above students research a famous Hispanic during Hispanic Heritage Month.  (5th & Sixth Grades)
