Welcome to Robstown High School!  Home of the Cottonpickers!

Principal's Message

Greetings everyone,

Welcome to the start of the 2016-2017 academic school year! Let me start off by introducing myself as your new principal for the 2016-2017 academic school year.  My roots run deep in Robstown as I was born, raised, educated, and reside in my hometown.  I am proud to say that I am a true Cotton Picker, Class of 1979.  I have dedicated my professional career to serving the children of the Robstown Independent School District (RISD) as a teacher, facilitator, assistant principal, director, and principal of three different campuses. I am honored to be to be principal of Robstown High School (RHS) and look forward to a great year.

I promise you, this year RHS will undergo unprecedented change in both academic advancement and physical expansion. Earlier this year, the Texas Educational Agency (TEA) approved the implementation of an Early College High School (ECHS) for RISD.  RHS will be one of a handful of high schools, statewide, that will afford students a unique and challenging educational opportunity.  The goal of the ECHS is for graduates to not only obtain their high school diploma but earn an Associate Degree, as well.

In terms of physical expansion, the RISD Board of Trustees will soon select a general contractor to commence construction on our new campus.  When completed RHS will resemble a college campus rather than a conventional high school campus. Check out the proposed floor plans and architectural renditions on our RHS web page.

With the full support of our superintendant, Dr. Maria Vidaurri, and our Board of Trustees, this year RHS will be implementing a "You Stay We Pay" school attendance and retention incentive program.  The aim of this program is to increase school attendance and retention by offering students an opportunity to earn valuable rewards ranging from HDTVs, iPhones, Laptops, DVRs, Meal Deals, Movie Tickets, Gas Cards, and other yet to be determined incentives.

I firmly believe that through hard work and perseverance all students can be successful.  My teachers and staff are committed to fulfilling this vision and making this year the best year, ever!
