Jessica Juarez’s journey in education began with a Bachelor of Arts in English, complemented by a minor in Journalism and Secondary Education from Texas A&M Corpus Christi. She further enriched her expertise with a Master of Library Science degree from Sam Houston State University. As the District Librarian, Jessica is passionate about igniting a lifelong love of reading and learning in students. She believes that literature holds the power to inspire, challenge, and transform, and she is dedicated to providing the resources and support needed for students to delve deeply into texts and ideas.
Jessica's role extends beyond the library, where she fosters critical thinking and literacy skills through innovative programming and collaboration with teachers. She aims to transform the library into a vibrant space for exploration and creativity, encouraging students to see it as a hub for intellectual and personal growth.
In addition to her work as a librarian, Jessica manages the dual credit textbooks, is the District Academic UIL Coordinator, serves as the RECHS Webmaster, and advises the National Honor Society. Her dedication and impact have been recognized with numerous accolades, including being named Elementary Teacher of the Year for Taft ISD in 2008 and 2009, Seale Junior High Campus and Secondary Teacher of the Year for Robstown ISD in 2015, and receiving the Educator Hero award by a top ten senior in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2024.
Jessica’s commitment to education is a testament to her belief in the transformative power of literature and her unwavering dedication to student success.
