My name is Sylvia I. Romero and I would like to extend warm greetings to one and all. For those of you who do not know me, I am proud to say that I am a true Cotton Picker, Class of 1979. I have dedicated my professional career to serving the children of the Robstown Independent School District (RISD) as a teacher, facilitator, assistant principal, director, and principal of four different campuses.
Academic school year 2017-2018 promises to be a great year for Robstown Early College High School (RECHS). We were blessed that last year the Texas Educational Agency (TEA) approved the implementation of an Early College High School (ECHS) for RISD making RECHS one of a handful of high schools, statewide, that help students obtain their high school diploma and earn an Associate Degree, as well.
Besides offering unprecedented academic opportunities, RECHS will soon have new classrooms and renovated facilities that will benefit all students. When completed RECHS will be vast in nature unlike other conventional high school campuses.
With the full support of our superintendant, Dr. Maria Vidaurri, and our Board of Trustees, this year our campus will undergo a paradigm shift that will bring a renewed spirit of community pride in the district's flagship school, Robstown Early College High School. Our intention is to make RECHS an accomplished institution of learning and an aesthetically appealing campus.
Finally, I want to promote the idea that learning should be fun and attending RECHS being something to look forward to every morning. My teachers and staff are committed to fulfilling this idea and making this year the best year, ever!
Blessings to everyone and GO RED!
Sylvia I. Romero, Principal
Robstown Early College High School
