Yvette Ortiz-Curry is a passionate and accomplished educator who earned her Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies and then advanced her expertise by obtaining a Master's in Curriculum and Instruction from The University of Texas at El Paso. Specializing in English Language Arts, History, and Bilingual Education, Yvette is deeply committed to fostering student success. Her teaching philosophy is simple yet impactful: "Every student that enters my classroom will start with a clean slate."

 

As a sponsor for the Friends of Rachel (F.O.R.) Club and an Academic UIL Coach for Literary Analysis, Yvette’s influence extends beyond the classroom. Her dedication to her students has earned her the prestigious title of Secondary Teacher of the Year twice, in 2016 and again in 2022. Additionally, Yvette is a proud recipient of the Proud Picker Award, a testament to her unwavering commitment to education and her school community.
